Allegra’s software solutions are built around the philosophy of TOTAL PATIENT CARE. Allegra provides one integrated, effective, customised business process solution that enables the health care provider to adapt to current and future customer care challenges. The Allegra platform allows integration between healthcare stakeholders such as medical aids, insurance companies and healthcare providers. This results in the opportunity of one shared patient health record across the Southern African healthcare network for those who are a part of the Allegra Healthcare community.
Allegra was started in 2001 by Louis Steyn, a local Pharmacist, who put a small team together that developed a Primary Care Practice Management solution with a focus on clinical information management. In 2006 to 2008 Allegra supplied the software solution for an Outcomes research study. The outcome was published in SA heart journal November 2008. This created the foundation for the development of the WellScreen Health Assessment module. This module is currently deployed in more than 350 sites. Part of the solution is the Biometric Data exchanges that currently communicate to five medical aids including Discovery Vitality.
Following the development of WellScreen the original primary healthcare practice management solution was redeveloped on the new technology, and is currently implemented in all the corporate pharmaceutical groups and some of the independent groups. In the same period Allegra were contracted to develop a courier pharmacy solution that is also the framework for the complete retail pharmacy management solution.
During November 2011 Allegra acquired Interpharm, a Realtime Electronic Data Interchange solution. Interpharm was rebranded in 2012 and is now known as Allegra Connect.
Allegra is a dynamic, fast growing company in the health care market space with a vision “To become a key driving force in bringing the philosophy of total patient care to life”. We accomplish this through a value system of care, innovation, agility, joy and trust.
